Jewellery and fashion websites

This is the one category where image quality cannot be compromised, which makes it the hardest one to keep fast.

Jewellery is bought on detail. A customer wants to see the setting, the finish and the clasp, and a compressed photograph loses the sale. Yet the same customer is browsing on a phone and will leave if the page takes eight seconds. Every other category can trade some image quality for speed. This one cannot, so the engineering has to work harder.

Pricing is the second thing that makes jewellery different. Gold rates move daily, and a price is usually metal weight at today's rate plus making charges plus stone value plus GST. Sites that hardcode prices are either wrong or being edited by hand every morning.

Fashion shares the imagery problem and adds returns. Size charts, fit guidance and a return process that a customer can start themselves are what keep the cost of returns manageable.

What we build

The modules that matter in jewellery & fashion.

Not every project needs all of these. This is the menu, and the first conversation is usually about which two or three of them would change your week.

  • High detail imagery

Multiple angles and zoom at full resolution, delivered in modern formats and fetched only when opened, so quality costs nothing on first load.

  • Live rate pricing

Price calculated from today's gold or silver rate, weight, purity, making charges, stone value and GST, with the breakup shown.

  • Certification display

BIS hallmark, purity and diamond certificates shown per product, since this is the first thing a serious buyer checks.

  • Try at home and appointments

Booking a showroom visit or a home trial, which is how much of high value jewellery is still sold.

  • Size and fit

Ring and bangle sizing guides, garment measurement charts, and fit notes that cut the return rate.

  • Returns and exchange

Self service returns with status tracking, plus buyback and exchange terms stated clearly.

What usually goes wrong

The four mistakes we see most often here.

These are not hypothetical. Each one is something we have been called in to fix on a site somebody else built.

  • Loading twelve full resolution images on page load, which is the standard way these sites become slow.

  • Prices fixed in the catalogue while the metal rate moves daily.

  • No certification information, which loses the buyers spending the most.

  • Return policy written in legal language, which increases disputes rather than preventing them.

Questions

About jewellery & fashion projects.

How do you show live gold rates?

A rate feed updates a daily figure, and product prices are calculated from weight, purity, making charges and stone value at that rate. Your team can override the rate manually if you prefer to set it each morning.

Can the site be fast with such large images?

Yes. The listing shows compressed versions sized for the grid, and the full resolution file is fetched only when someone opens the zoom. Buyers get the detail, and the page still loads in around a second.

Do people buy high value jewellery online?

Some do, and many more use the site to shortlist before visiting. That is why appointment booking and certification display matter as much as the cart. The site's job is often to produce a showroom visit rather than a checkout.
