An education site has two months of the year that decide it, and it has to hold up on both of them.
Admission season is a traffic spike, not a trickle. A school site that handles two hundred visitors a day comfortably will meet four thousand in a week in March, and results day concentrates that into about an hour. Sites built without that in mind go down on the day they matter most.
Parents are also comparing you against four other institutions in the same evening. Fee structure, syllabus, transport routes and results are the pages they open. If those are PDFs from three years ago, that comparison does not go your way.
Beyond admissions, a school site is mostly an announcement channel. Holidays, exam schedules, fee due dates and circulars. It works when a staff member can post one in two minutes from a phone, and it dies when every notice needs the developer.

Can we manage notices ourselves?
Yes, and you should. Posting a notice takes about two minutes from a phone. Anything that needs a developer stops being used within a term.
Will the site handle results day traffic?
That is a specific piece of engineering. Result pages are cached and served from an edge network, and the lookup is rate limited so one script cannot exhaust the database. We load test before the date.
Do you build parent and student portals?
Yes. Attendance, marks, homework, fee history and communication with class teachers, with separate logins for parent and student. That is a web application, priced separately from the website.
